Consisting of me (Tage Skotvold) and Jørgen Brønseth, Emanate Preset came about in the late 90's after I bought a Boss BR-8 digital mixer with a built in drum machine and a lot of crappy Boss effects (which can be heard quite clearly in the first few recordings).

We started out heavily influenced by Sonic Youth. We usually recorded Saturdays and Sundays, after a night out on town - therefore some of the tunes are quite angst-ridden. Or was it just that we were a classic case of disillusioned youths in a small town in Norway? :)
